What is the purpose of this role?

We’re looking for an IAM / Automation Engineer to strengthen the foundation of our identity and access management strategy while helping us scale smarter. In this role, you'll play a critical part in enhancing our security posture, enabling seamless user access, and improving internal efficiencies through automation. Your work will directly impact the productivity and safety of our workforce by ensuring the right people have the right access at the right time with minimal friction.

What is the role?

The IAM / Automation Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining identity and access management (IAM) systems while driving automation initiatives that improve operational efficiency. This role involves managing access controls using tools like Okta and Google Workspace, automating user onboarding/offboarding, and building self-service tools or custom integrations with platforms like Slack and Jira. The engineer also supports access governance through RBAC models and auditing processes. This position is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of security, productivity, and automation—and wants to build scalable, secure, and user-friendly IT experiences.

What will you do?

  • Maintain and improve IAM systems (Okta, Google Workspace)
  • Automate user lifecycle processes and device provisioning
  • Support role-based access control (RBAC) and access reviews
  • Build internal tools and integrations (e.g., Slack bots, Jira workflows)

What do you bring to DOOR?

  • 3-4 years of experience in IT automation, identity and access management (IAM), or a related engineering role
  • Proficiency in managing IAM platforms such as Okta and Google Workspace
  • Strong scripting and automation experience (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Familiarity with identity protocols and provisioning standards (e.g., SAML, SCIM, OAuth)
  • Experience designing and supporting RBAC models
  • Ability to build and integrate internal tools and APIs (e.g., Slack, Jira)
  • Strong troubleshooting and systems integration skills
  • Excellent documentation and cross-functional collaboration abilities

Bonus Skills:

  • Understanding of access governance and audit processes
  • Built or contributed to internal developer or IT self-service tools
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version-controlled infrastructure
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
