The Opportunity:  

Cyber threats are everywhere, and the constantly evolving nature of these threats can make understanding them seem overwhelming to the Department of Defense (DOD). In all of this “cyber noise,” how can these organizations understand their risks and how to mitigate them? The answer is you—a lead information security risk specialist who can break down complex threats into manageable plans of action. 

As an information security risk specialist on our team, you’ll advise for the DOD, leading the discovery of their cyber risks, understanding applicable policies, and developing a mitigation plan. You’ll oversee the analysis of technical and personnel details from operations and engineers as your team reviews the entire threat landscape. Then, you’ll guide your client through a plan of action with presentations, policy, and milestones. 

Your client will rely on you to translate security concepts so they can make the best decisions to secure their simulation training network. This is your opportunity to take a leadership role in information security while sharing your skills in network defense, incident management, and threat analysis with both your clients and your team.

 

You Have: 

• 8+ years of experience in a professional work enviornment

• Experience in Control Frameworks and Risk Management

• Experience in Threat Detection and Incident Response

• Experience working with Linux and Windows Operating Systems

• Experience working in the DOD

• Ability to lead a technical team

• TS/SCI clearance 

• Bachelor's degree

• IAT Level II Compliancy Eligibility

• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) Certification

 

Nice If You Have: 

• Experience working in EMASS 

• Experience configuring ACAS

• Knowledge of Trellix

• Knowledge of Security Onion

• Knowledge of VMWARE  

• Ability to setup, configure, and manage SIEM Platforms

 

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,900.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
