Who we’re looking for
Toyota is looking for team members who are passionate about technology and interested in joining a collaborative and highly motivated team as a Principal Engineer I – DevSecOps.
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the integrity and security of TMNA’s applications and systems by defending against external threats. You will work in collaboration with cybersecurity experts to develop, maintain, and refine our cybersecurity policies, guidelines, and design patterns. Additionally, you'll engage with technical teams to enforce these standards, address security gaps, and provide support for security remediation
Reporting to the Senior Manager, this role will join the Cloud Engineering & Software Development Support team to build and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure and systems.
This position is based in Plano, TX. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within a commutable distance of this location.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Design and implement hybrid/cloud enterprise solutions that adhere to TMNA's security standards, guidelines, and architectural patterns. This includes hands-on engineering to ensure the infrastructure and applications are robustly secured against emerging threats.
Write and maintain clear, concise security standards, guidelines, and patterns to support secure development practices across the organization.
Develop comprehensive threat models for complex applications, communicating effectively with application teams to address and remediate vulnerabilities
Establish, refine, and integrate security-related processes with the tech team.
Communicate effectively with application teams to explain vulnerabilities, guide security best practices, and ensure timely remediation of security flaws
What You Bring
Architect secure, scalable enterprise patterns across AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid platforms
In-depth knowledge of secure system architecture, computer systems, networking, Containerization and Kubernetes, and public cloud. (AWS/Azure/ GCP)
Strong understanding of application security principles, cloud security best practices, and secure coding techniques.
Proven ability to develop detailed threat models and articulate security concerns to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster collaboration across diverse teams.
Added Bonus If You Have
A growth mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), Cisco, AWS, Azure, GCP, and SANS certifications.
Generative AI development experience is a plus.
An advanced degree in Cyber Security Management or a related discipline.
Application development experience.
Pen testing, red teaming/purple teaming, exploit development, or reverse engineering experience.
