Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Business Consultant to join our Overhunt organization. This role will drive complex, high-impact initiatives across the cybersecurity organization.  You will oversee strategic programs spanning adversarial detection, cyber engineering, AI integration, deception technologies, 24x7 operations, and threat intelligence enablement.  You will partner with senior technical and business stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, governance compliance, risk visibility, and alignment with enterprise objectives.

This role demands both strategic leadership and hands-on program execution.  You will be responsible for establishing program structure, tracking milestones and dependencies, and ensuring high-quality outcomes across multi-disciplinary technical teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a top subject matter professional for Business Execution who leads highly complex, large, and cross organizational strategic initiatives with companywide impact
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of the most complex and significant challenges across multiple lines of business
  • Deliver solutions that are long-term, large scale, broad reaching
  • Plan and manage strategic initiatives, using solid analytical skills, extensive knowledge of Business Execution, and understanding of international business
  • Provide vision, leadership, and industry knowledge regarding highly complex cross organizational strategic initiatives that significantly influence the company's business
  • Strategically lead all levels of professionals and managers across multiple lines of business and support groups
  • Evaluate effectiveness and provide updates to key enterprise stakeholders, leadership, and executive leadership regarding the root cause, cost or benefit, and risk evaluations
  • Lead end to end delivery of complex cybersecurity programs, coordinating across engineering, detections, threat intel, operations, and executive stakeholders.
  • Define and maintain program charters, roadmaps, budgets, KPIs and governance structures.
  • Track and manage program dependencies, risk, decisions, and resource allocations across interconnected projects.
  • Ensure program alignment with threat driven priorities, business risk posture, and regulatory requirements.
  • Create and maintain dashboards, status reports, and executive briefings to ensure visibility and accountability.
  • Champion and institutionalize repeatable delivery frameworks, agile practices, and governance standards across the organization.
  • Collaborate with technical leads to scope initiatives, identify resourcing needs, and remove execution barriers.
  • Act as the central coordination point for escalations, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.
  • Support budget planning, portfolio alignment, and vendor/contractor coordination when applicable.
  • Partner closely with 24x7 operations, threat hunters, engineers, and intel teams to ensure mission continuity and visibility across workstreams.
  • Delivery of mission-critical cybersecurity initiatives that protect the institution from advanced threats.
  • Maturity of the Overhunt Cybersecurity Management Office through structure, automation, and cross team alignment.
  • Transparency and trust across technical, operation, and executive cybersecurity stakeholders.
  • The long-term strategy and operating model of modern, intelligence-led, engineering powered defense function.


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 10+ years in enterprise cybersecurity, threat management, or security engineering environments.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of leading complex, multi team, multi-year programs in heavily regulated industries
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and threat landscapes (familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, SOC/IR functions, detection engineering, etc.).
  • Proficiency with program management tools and frameworks (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, MS Project, SAFe, agile, Waterfall/Hybrid).
  • Exceptional skills in executive communication, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and change management.
  • Ability to operate across technical and non-technical domains, balancing business drivers with engineering realities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Experience managing programs in cyber threat detection, cyber defense, red/purple team operations, or threat intelligence environments.
  • Familiarity with security and infrastructure domains: cloud, endpoint, deception, automation, and detections-as-code.
  • Strong understanding of NIST, ISO, FFIEC, or other cyber risk and regulatory frameworks.
  • Certifications strongly preferred

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$144,400.00 - $300,000.00
