What You’ll Be Doing

You will be joining the Cybersecurity, Third Party and Resilience Technology team at CIBC. As a Data Security Engineer within the DELP and TDaaS Enablement team, you will play a key role in data protection domain. You will work independently or collaborate with senior team members, consumer application teams, service business partners, multiple functional teams, and vendor partners on development, implementation, troubleshooting, and remediation.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Development and integration: Participate in and conduct technical design, development, unit testing and integration of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems. Ensure adherence to all regulatory and information security standards and policies in all aspects of application management. Provide a technical runbook outlining the business implications of consumer onboarding projects.
  • Consumer onboarding project delivery: You focus on project timelines and deliverables. You will participate in the delivery of data protection service integration to ensure alignment with stakeholder goals and security requirements. This includes providing guidance on protector installation, configuring network connectivity, deploying data protection policies and verifying audit logs in collaboration with consumer teams.
  • Troubleshooting and production support: You understand that effective production support helps build long-term relationships and demonstrates a commitment to client care. You will participate in project and production issue troubleshooting, applying solutions as needed and collaborating with multiple external teams to address business and client-impact issues.
  • Communication: You understand that communication is key to delivering strong results. You will participate in multiple meetings, listen actively and provide your insights.
  • Team collaboration: You are passionate about collaborating effectively with consumer partners and stakeholders across CIBC. You will develop a unified data protection onboarding process by standardizing onboarding procedures and maintaining a playbook to help new consumers adopt our services efficiently.
  • Ownership to grow and deep-dive: You enjoy taking on challenges and are self-driven to explore new technologies and solutions. You will master a variety of data protection integration patterns, including Application Protector, Immutable Application Protector, Oracle Protector and Big Data Databricks Protector, while continuing to explore innovative technologies and solutions.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 2-3 years of experience as an application developer and integration specialist, developing and deploying Java or Python applications in a Linux virtual machine using Bash scripts or GitHub Actions. You have hands-on experience in application production support, leveraging logical thinking, organizational skills and troubleshooting abilities. You must have good knowledge of the software development life cycle, databases (Oracle or Azure SQL), batch processing and Azure Storage Accounts. It is an asset if you have experience in OpenShift OCP, Azure Databricks, Azure Key Vault and Azure Network Security Group.
