AnaVation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cyber Capability Developer to join our dynamic and mission-focused cybersecurity team. This advanced role is ideal for professionals with a deep understanding of cyber threat environments, reverse engineering, and secure software development. Key responsibilities include:· Perform in-depth static and dynamic analysis of malicious and unknown binary files· Reverse engineer compiled software and analyze source code/scripts across multiple languages including C, C++, Java, Python, PowerShell, and more· Conduct network traffic, disk, and memory forensics to identify cyber threats and vulnerabilities· Develop frameworks, internal tools, and automated scripts to enhance cyber threat detection and secure software assessments· Apply secure development practices and advise teams on OWASP Top 10 and industry standards· Collaborate with ISSOs to evaluate delivered software for potential vulnerabilities or malicious logic· Lead efforts in malware analysis, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessments in cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments· Support CJIS and federal stakeholders by identifying and mitigating technical security risks and delivering assessment reports· Provide expert guidance on secure coding, web security, and software lifecycle best practices· Mentor junior developers and analysts in advanced cyber analysis techniques
This position is hybrid, but will require regular trips to our customer location in Clarksburg, WV. Staff performing on the contract should live within commuting distance and reimbursement for travel will not be provided.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 6 years
  • Required Skills/Certs:
  • Minimum of six (6) years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity.
  • Demonstrated experience with malware analysis, static/dynamic binary analysis, and reverse engineering.
  • Strong understanding of multiple programming and scripting languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, Java, C#, Groovy, Python, Perl, Pup, JavaScript, Ruby, Bash, Powershell, and Objective C.
  • Background in forensic analysis, network security, and vulnerability research.
  • Performs manual and automatic assessments of code libraries and cross reference them with industry best practices and OWASP Top 10.
  • Performs static and dynamic analysis of known malicious and unknown binary files, reverse engineering of compiled software, functional analysis of source code/scripts, and/or hardware/firmware analysis.
  • Creates frameworks, internal tooling, scripts, and application extensions to support efficient and effective software security analysis processes.
  • Provides technical guidance on secure web development techniques, interfaces, and web security best practices.
  • Assists CJIS stakeholders in identifying and evaluating technical and operational security risks, threats, weaknesses, and vulnerabilities of CJIS information systems and services.
  • Ability to present technical findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
  • Worked in Agile development environments
  • Required Clearance:
  • Top Secret

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of twelve (12) years of hands-on relevant experience is required.
  • COMPTIA Sec+ or equivalent
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or equivalent
