Position Summary:  

 At SPS, we understand the transformative power of data in driving innovation and shaping strategic decisions. As our business grows, unlocking the full potential of data is more important than ever. To lead this charge, we're excited to introduce a new opportunity: Sr. Director, Data Solutions — the head of our Enterprise Systems Data Solutions team. This senior leadership role will be instrumental in defining and executing our enterprise data vision and strategy. We're seeking a visionary leader who can champion a data-driven culture, advancing advanced analytics maturity, and deliver meaningful insights that ensures investments support measurable business outcomes. Partnering closely with business stakeholders, the Sr. Director will design and implement a cohesive data strategy that empowers teams, builds a strong data foundation, and maximizes impact through integrated data solutions. This role will drive the development of scalable analytics and data integration frameworks, enabling actionable intelligence across all areas of the business. 

  

Key Responsibilities:   

  

  • Data Strategy: Define enterprise data vision and strategy, in alignment with business objectives, leading the assessment and mapping of current ecosystem 
  • Data Practices: Establish a control framework to ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and compliance with relevant regulations while maturing the data capability 
  • Data Management: Oversee the collection, storage, and maintenance of data, ensuring it is organized, clean, and accessible  
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, data scientists, and other stakeholders to implement best practices for data management and utilization  
  • Data Quality Assurance: Pursue continued improvements and increasing maturity in the reliability and quality of data through regular audits and monitoring through a  
  • Data Privacy and Security: Implement measures to protect data privacy and ensure compliance with data protection laws  
  • Service Delivery: Collaborate with internal partners to collect and manage data, build out an API services management layer to facilitate seamless data integrations for key assets across the enterprise (i.e. Operations, Finance, HR, customer, dealer etc.). 
  • Analytics and Reporting: Interpret data analytics and translate insights into actionable business strategies  
  • Leadership: Foster and sustain a data culture with team and stakeholders  
  • People Management: Lead the data and analytics organization and manage a portfolio of initiatives to drive data strategy 
  • Change Adoption: Identify and support the upskilling and training of team members on data practices, sharing key learnings and best practices 
  • Other duties as assigned based on business need

  • Constructive coach – Aptitude for coaching development and business teams, providing guidance, ensuring best practices / design patterns are followed, and helping to shape a strong data culture

  • Self-motivated and driven – strives to deliver great results and drive continuous improvement, gets things done. 

 

  

Location:   

  • This role is hybrid in our Minneapolis, MN office with the expectation of being in the office 3 days per week.  

  

Required Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and minimum 10+ years of related experience, or equivalent. 
  • Experience building and leading diverse and highly talented teams; prior experience in a highly matrixed environment preferred. 
  • Proven experience building data centric culture, governance frameworks, data analytics capabilities, and implementing data strategies, in alignment with business goals, by working across departments (e.g. technology, finance, sales, marketing, etc.) 
  • Professional certifications in data management, analytics, and governance (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)) are highly valued  
  • Knowledge of software application architecture in several of the following: Salesforce, Oracle Fusion, Workday, and Microsoft preferred  
  • Proficiency with data management and analytics platforms and software like Snowflake, Informatica, Power BI, Tableau, Google Data Studio 
  • This position may require travel to other SPS locations. 

  

What We Offer:    

  

At SPS Commerce, we are committed to ensuring that each employee's compensation reflects their unique experiences, performance, and skills in their role. The salary range for this role considers several factors, including education, relevant skills, work history, certifications, location, and more.   

  

The annual salary range for this role is: $183,000 to $305,000 + Bonus and Equity. The actual salary offered will be determined based on the factors listed above and may fall anywhere within the range.    

Additionally, you may also be eligible to participate in an annual incentive program. An incentive award, if granted, is based on individual and/or organizational performance.
