Cloud Operations & Security Engineer

What will you be bringing to the team?

• Cloud Operations Oversight: Oversee hybrid-cloud workloads in Azure and M365, ensuring operational performance, security, and compliance with NATO’s cloud model.
• Migration Support and Planning: Lead planning, validation, and transition of data center services to the cloud environment.
• Azure Platform Engineering: Configure and maintain Azure infrastructure components and resolve IaaS/PaaS issues in collaboration with security teams.
• Microsoft Intune and M365 Support: Manage Intune policies, device onboarding, and access control across the M365 environment.
• Microsoft Defender Platform: Configure, monitor, and tune Microsoft Defender solutions, supporting threat detection and SOC operations.
• Microsoft Sentinel and SIEM Integration: Integrate Sentinel with security tools to enable alerting, dashboards, and threat hunting capabilities.
• Microsoft Purview and Compliance: Implement and manage DLP, retention, and audit-readiness policies using Microsoft Purview.
• Data Sanitization and Ingress: Perform secure data ingestion and malware filtering using OPSWAT and manage compliant data workflows.
• Sensitivity Labeling and Metadata Governance: Apply and manage sensitivity labels and metadata policies using Microsoft 365 and Titus for automated information protection.
• Cloudflare One and ZTNA Design: Deploy and manage Zero Trust policies with Cloudflare tools, ensuring secure access and device posture checks.
• Email Security Management: Maintain and enforce email security configurations including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and threat intelligence integration.
• DevOps and Automation: Automate deployments and workflows using PowerShell, YAML, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and Terraform.
• Security and Architecture Review: Provide secure architecture guidance aligned with NIST, ISO, and NATO frameworks, supporting SARB processes.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with leadership and project teams to gather requirements, present designs, and align service transitions.
• Documentation and Knowledge Transfer: Maintain documentation and deliver SOPs, runbooks, and training to ensure operational continuity.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal teams to align strategies, address concerns, and ensure integrated cloud operations.

Requirements

What do you need to succeed in this position?

• At least 8 years of Microsoft Cloud Expertise: Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 architecture and services. Strong Azure experience (RBAC, ARM, NSGs, hybrid design).
• Minimum 8 years of experience with device management and policy configuration with MS Intune, troubleshooting enrollment, provisioning, and policy conflicts.
• Advanced experience with Cloud Security & Compliance: Advanced Defender XDR, identity protection, MFA, and Secure Score. Hands-on with Microsoft Purview, GDPR, DLP, and eDiscovery. Implementation of Zero Trust using Cloudflare (WARP, Access Gateway). Proofpoint configuration, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, and threat analytics
• Hands-on Monitoring & Automation experience, using Microsoft Sentinel, KQL, and SIEM triage. Also PowerShell scripting, DevOps (Git, YAML, Terraform, Bicep), CI/CD. Knowledge of Kusto Query Language (KQL) for custom rules.
• Previous experience on Information Protection: Use of Microsoft Sensitivity Labels and Titus for labeling across M365. Metadata integration and classification enforcement
• Previous experience with Infrastructure & Migration: Azure Storage, VNET peering, NSGs, firewalls, and private endpoints. Data migration using OPSWAT MetaDefender, PST ingestion, and CDR.
• Knowledge of Architecture & Documentation: Solution design, architecture documentation, SOPs, and policy writing. Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53, CIS, ISO standards
• Full proficiency in the English language. French language proficiency would be an advantage
• An active NATO clearance at the time of application is mandatory
