Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in program management.
- 5 years of experience in cable planning and repair coordination in an network operations center/context.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Security Management, International Relations, Intelligence Studies, or equivalent industry experience.
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CCNP Security, CPP, PSP).
- 7 years of experience in security management, with 5 years of experience in critical infrastructure protection.
- 3 years of experience managing complex security programs or projects with multiple stakeholders, with excellent organizational and execution skills.
- Experience with crisis management, rapid incident response, government intelligence, financial systems, or telecommunications security, with a focus on intelligence analysis.
- Knowledge of security regulations and frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS).

You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
Google's Global Submarine Networks project is a critical initiative to expand and enhance our global Submarine Cable network infrastructure. This project will ensure faster, more reliable, and more resilient connectivity for Google services worldwide. To successfully execute this project, we require additional staffing resources with specialized skills in submarine cable systems, Network Operations Management, Security Ops, Network Delivery, Operational Systems, Data And Quality Assurance.
In this role, you will lead security and intelligence for Cable Landing Stations (CLS), managing physical, personnel, and cyber-security. You will be involved in risk assessments, threat analysis and crisis management. You will collaborate with law enforcement and stakeholders. You will be included in developing security programs, managing budgets, and implementing solutions for proactive threat mitigation.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive security programs and operational procedures for cable landing stations, including physical, personnel, and cyber-security measures, risk assessments, incident response, and personnel management.
- Lead vulnerability management processes, including identification, prioritization, and remediation, and develop intelligence collection plans to analyze and disseminate threat information, producing timely assessments, and proactive mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and guidelines, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS), and conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including management, law enforcement, and vendors, fostering collaboration.
- Provide security reports, conduct training, and drive continuous improvement by monitoring performance and staying updated on industry trends.
