MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Journeyman Network Engineer to join our team in Doral, FL.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supports the planning, design, and maintenance of enterprise network assets, ensuring compliance and secure operations on classified networks (SIPR, NIPR, JWICS).

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to address connectivity requirements and implements necessary configurations to facilitate efficient and secure data transmission.

  • Ensures all network switches and routers are operational, properly configured, and compliant with DISA STIG requirements.

  • Performs regular maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting of network switches to ensure optimal performance.

  • Configures, maintains, and monitors firewall, intrusion protection, and intrusion detection systems for network access control and authentication, and implements security measures to protect specialized systems and networks from unauthorized access and cybersecurity threats.

  • Supports the planning and implementation of enterprise service connections, facilitates connections for auditing, authentication, SCCA, and cross-domain solutions and guards, and collaborates with ISSOs and Cybersecurity Services Leads in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in field necessary to assume Network Engineer duties or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree

  • 4+ years of experience with 2+ years of relevant Network Engineer experience.

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols).

  • Experience configuring and maintaining network switches and routers (e.g., Cisco, Juniper).

  • Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), network troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.

  • Knowledge of DISA STIGs, experience implementing security configurations, and understanding of network security principles and best practices.

  • Experience with network access control and authentication, familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, experience working with ATO requirements, and understanding of secure cloud computing architecture (SCCA), and cross domain solutions and guards.

  • Must have a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a relevant discipline.

  • Familiarity with Classified networks (SIPR, NIPR, JWICS).

  • CompTIA Network+, Security+. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

  • Experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible). Experience with software-defined networking (SDN). Experience with VoIP.

  • Experience with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • In-depth experience with all phases of the RMF process. ITIL Foundation certificate.

  • Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in stationary position for up to 50% of the time.

  • Must be able to deliver clear and effective communication verbally and via email, phone, and virtual communication platforms to interface with co-workers and customers.

  • Must be able to occasionally move about inside an office environment to access file cabinets, office machinery, and communicate with co-workers.
