What You’ll Be Doing

As a member of CIBC’s Security Engineering team, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving automation across our security infrastructure and processes. We’re looking for an action-oriented, collaborative, and innovative engineer who will design, build, and deploy critical information security automation solutions using Palo Alto XSOAR. This is a key opportunity to shape CIBC’s security automation landscape and strengthen our overall security posture.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Technical Design & Delivery – Design, build, and deploy automation workflows and integrations leveraging Palo Alto XSOAR (or with similar tools like ansible and/or python) for Prisma SASE, Azure, and Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs), contributing to seamless security operations. Drive end-to-end automation initiatives by developing and implementing high-impact use cases to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our security engineering teams. 
  • Integration Expertise – Leverage knowledge of Splunk and ServiceNow to integrate data, alerts, and insights into SOAR, enabling real-time automated response and ticketing capabilities.
  • Innovation & Execution – Lead proof-of-concept and proof-of-technology exercises to evaluate new security automation offerings and determine fit within our environment. Take full ownership from concept to deployment. Monitor effectiveness of deployed automation use cases, proactively gather feedback, and refine playbooks to meet evolving security needs.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration – Partner with security engineering, operations, and enterprise teams to identify automation opportunities, gather requirements, and deliver scalable, future-ready solutions.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing – Clearly document technical workflows, playbooks, and automation logic. Share best practices and contribute to the team’s collective knowledge base. Stay at the forefront of emerging trends, technologies, and tools in security automation and Palo Alto Networks ecosystems.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 8+ years of experience.  in Security Automation. You have a strong passion for leveraging automation to optimize and scale security processes across complex enterprise environments. You bring hands-on expertise in Palo Alto XSOAR (or similar SOAR tools), Prisma SASE, Azure, networking fundamentals, and Next-Generation Firewalls. You’ve built custom SOAR playbooks that query Splunk, retrieve logs, and create/manage tickets in ServiceNow, enabling streamlined incident response. You’re energized by technical challenges and excel at designing creative, scalable, and practical solutions for real-world security needs.
