Agile Defense is looking for a Scrum Master to join our growing team!
In the Scrum Master role, you will serve as the leader for your team by ensuring clear communication and helping the team reach its goal.
The role operates in an Agile environment that continuously deploys code and requires a solid understanding of the full software lifecycle, including DevSecOps, Software Development, System Integration, Infrastructure Management, and Cyber Security related to public-facing government products.

In the Scrum Master role, you will serve as the leader for your team by ensuring clear communication and helping the team reach its goal.
The role operates in an Agile environment that continuously deploys code and requires a solid understanding of the full software lifecycle, including DevSecOps, Software Development, System Integration, Infrastructure Management, and Cyber Security related to public-facing government products.
Responsibilities / duties
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment and familiar with Scrum structure and ceremonies. Able to prepare for and facilitate sprint ceremonies effectively.
- Familiar with and experience using tools like Jira, Confluence, Mural, and Teams to communicate requirements, design, processes, and content.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Able to effectively communicate and coordinate between stakeholders, POs, and team members including designers, business analysts, developers, and scrum masters across other development teams.
- Proactively take responsibility for success of team, and coordinates with stakeholders and internal team members to ensure team success
- Work with PO and other stakeholders to determine team priorities, and recommend next steps for the team
- Comfortable leading a team in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change quickly
- Able to help adapt and re-focus the team when priorities change, and provide direction and guidance on next steps in the team’s roadmap
- Facilitate team productivity by removing impediments that may obstruct the pursuit of the team's goals and by preserving flexibility and ability to rapidly respond to changes on the team.
- Analyze or modify procedures to solve complex problems while considering computer equipment capability and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results, including analyzing business and user needs, documenting requirements, and translating them into proper system requirement specifications.
- Proactively work to become a subject matter expert for the products that are supported.
- Able to assist with testing/communication/de-bugging with external integration partner system teams.
- After team onboarding, work independently to continue to learn the system and products by reviewing resources and documentation, testing, and engaging with design, development, Product Owner and stakeholders.
- Supports technical team through continuous coaching and mentorship.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 Years of experience working in an Agile and Scrum software development environment performing the duties of Scrum Master.
- Intermediate+ skills in Jira and Confluence.
- Exceptional documentation and attention to detail.
- Confident facilitator and strong communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- USCIS or DHS experience
