What You’ll Be Doing

CIBC’s Enterprise Security team is advancing the bank’s Zero Trust journey by modernizing our internal network defenses. As a Senior Consultant, Microsegmentation Services (Guardicore/Akamai), you will lead the enterprise-wide implementation and lifecycle strategy of microsegmentation solutions across hybrid workloads. You’ll design and optimize policies that protect critical assets and enable least-privilege access, reducing attack surface and lateral movement risks. You will collaborate with engineering, security architecture, cloud, internal application teams across multiple lines of business and infrastructure platforms to develop scalable policy frameworks and governance models. You’ll also guide Guardicore tagging and visibility efforts, conduct risk-based policy reviews, and align segmentation strategies to business and compliance needs. This role requires for you to participate in a shared on-call rotation to provide after-hours coverage for critical issues related to segmentation services.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Strategic Ownership - Lead the microsegmentation program with clear technical vision, scalable architecture, and roadmap alignment to security priorities and regulatory frameworks.
  • Policy Design & Governance - Create and oversee policy lifecycle workflows, including tagging schemas, segmentation templates, and exception handling models. Design enforcement zones and control policy drift across hybrid environments. Establish governance frameworks and operational processes for the management, monitoring, and optimization of Microsegmentation policies
  • Guardicore Engineering & Deployment - Lead the implementation of Guardicore in large-scale enterprise environments (Azure, VMware, Windows/Linux). Integrate Guardicore with CMDB, logging systems, and automation tools.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership - Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, enabling secure segmentation while minimizing business disruption. Build partnerships across cybersecurity, DevOps, and app teams.
  • Security Monitoring & Response - Analyze east-west traffic, validate flows, and optimize segmentation policies based on real-time visibility. Contribute to incident response as it relates to microsegmentation containment and audit readiness.
  • Continuous Improvement & Reporting - Provide leadership metrics, success criteria, and health reports to assess the impact of segmentation. Lead process maturity initiatives and participate in Zero Trust governance groups.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate 8+ years of experience. in enterprise security or infrastructure engineering, including recent experience designing and deploying Guardicore (or similar microsegmentation platforms). You have strong hybrid infrastructure knowledge, including NSGs, firewalls, Azure networking, virtualization platforms, and OS-level segmentation considerations. It’s an asset if you have certifications such as CISSP, Azure Security Engineer, GCSA or GCSE are considered strong assets
