We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Data Analyst with expertise in Power BI to join our cybersecurity team. This role is pivotal in transforming complex security data into actionable insights that help protect our organization from cyber threats. You will work closely with cybersecurity engineers, threat and vulnerability analysts, and IT stakeholders to develop dashboards, reports, and data models that support strategic decision-making.

Principal Responsibilities / Objectives:

  • Data Analysis & Visualization:
    • Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to monitor vulnerability data, cybersecurity metrics, threat intelligence, and incident trends.
    • Analyze large datasets from SIEM tools, vulnerability scanners, and other security platforms to identify patterns, anomalies, and actionable vulnerabilities.
    • Connect and visualize data directly from Lakehouses and warehouse tables.
    • Optimize semantic models for use in fabric.
    • Automate data movement from diverse sources.
  • Vulnerability Management:
  • Monitor, report, and track application vulnerabilities. Drive the remediation process by collaborating with various technical teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Cybersecurity Support:
    • Collaborate with cybersecurity colleagues to understand data requirements and translate them into visual solutions.
    • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as vulnerability remediation status, threat detection rates, incident response times, and data security metrics.
    • Assist in the development of automated reporting solutions for regulatory and internal compliance.
  • Data Security & Quality:
    • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all cybersecurity reporting platforms.
    • Assist in implementing best practices for data security and privacy in reporting workflows.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Present findings and insights into technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Provide training and support on Power BI usage and cybersecurity data interpretation.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated with the latest security trends, tools, and best practices. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the security posture of the organization.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications such as PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst, DP-500 Azure Enterprise Data Analyst, and/or Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate preferred.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis or cybersecurity analytics.
  • Azure ADO, Power BI, Confluence, and Powershell.
  • Vulnerability management tools.

Specialized Skills:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Power BI, Power Query, Microsoft Fabric, Semantic modeling, DAX, and data modeling. Strong understanding of vulnerability management and incident response processes. Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent data analysis and reporting skills. Ability to create detailed and insightful reports and dashboards. Perform advanced data analysis and transformation using Python.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex security issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong understanding of data visualization principles and storytelling with data.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and analysis.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Willingness to learn and grow within the role.

The starting salary range for this full-time position is $99,400 - $124,300 per year. This base pay will take into consideration internal equity, candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge and experience among other factors. Origence maintains a highly competitive compensation program. Under company guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual bonus to provide an incentive to achieve targeted goals. Bonuses are awarded at company’s discretion on an individual basis.
