Our company is growing and we are looking for a Sr. IT administrator to join our small but mighty team here in Phoenix.
We work onsite, and our office is located at 3254 E .Broadway Rd, Phoenix 85040. The Senior IT Administrator will typically work in an office environment but may also need to travel to various company locations. This role may require occasional off-hours and weekend work to perform system maintenance or handle technical support issues. The position involves significant interaction with other departments, requiring excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Our company was founded in 2007, and we have since grown to be the largest residential garage door service in North America, operating in 40 markets across 20+ states. Our company is on a major growth path, as we are growing our revenue from $250M/yr to $1B/yr in the next few years.
The Role:
The Senior IT Administrator is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's IT infrastructure, focusing on the Microsoft stack, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Microsoft Defender 365, Intune, Office 365 applications, and SharePoint. This role ensures the smooth operation and security of all technology systems and involves a combination of strategic planning, hands-on technical support, and team leadership.
This position, along with all other members of the Information Technology department, provides support to local and remote users across the United States. Because of the nature of our service-oriented company, user support is often required outside of normal business hours and on weekends. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Windows 11 desktop operating system, Apple iOS products, Microsoft 365 administration, and IT security, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management
· Implement, and maintain the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
· Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of IT services.
· Configure, monitor and maintain Firewalls and remote VPN connections.
· Plan and oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
IT Security
· Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to protect the organization's data and systems from threats.
· Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
· Manage firewalls, antivirus software, and other security tools to safeguard the IT environment.
Technical Support
· Provide advanced technical support to resolve complex IT issues (escalations).
· Provide support on hardware and software issues to remote and local users.
· Assist in troubleshooting and resolving network and system problems.
· Oversee the helpdesk team to ensure efficient and effective user support.
Team Leadership
· Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support for their professional development. (Future)
· Coordinate with other departments to identify and address their IT needs.
· Manage IT projects, including the allocation of resources and adherence to timelines.
Strategic Planning
· Assist with the development and implementation of long-term IT strategies aligned with the organization's goals.
· Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the organization remains competitive.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
· Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT administration, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
· Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, PMP, CISSP).
· Proven experience in network and system administration, IT security, and technical support. (Multi location experience is preferred, as we operate in 30+ locations.)
Technical Skills
· Experience working with various operating systems (Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android)
· Extensive experience in Microsoft 365 / Entra ID administration.
· SharePoint administration experience; site creation, security and document management.
· Experience managing MDM systems including Intune.
· Experience with Microsoft 365 Defender.
· In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
· Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
· Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
Soft Skills
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Exceptional ability and willingness to provide technical support and resolve issues.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Leadership and management abilities, with a focus on team development.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
