This position, based at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, plays a vital role in supporting the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position, and this role is on-site with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a crucial part of the Missile Defense System. It is an essential operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control designated networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability that delivers an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It functions as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both globally and locally to enhance overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a key component of all system ground and flight tests, which verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of the missile defense system.
The selected candidate will be part of a team that reports to the C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO) and performs daily system monitoring, operations, and maintenance of the C2BMC network systems in a 24/7 operations and test environment.
Essential Functions:
- Will provide first-level technical support to the warfighter and perform initial troubleshooting of all local C2BMC network hardware and software
- Will document and report all events and issues to the CWO and receive tasking and direction from the CCC for all operations, tests, and real-world events
- Will also assist with all network hardware and software installations as directed by the local SMEs and create and maintain user accounts as directed by the local ISSO
- Performs additional duties and assignments as needed
- Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment and have proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Basic Qualifications:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 2 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 0 years of relevant work experience; or 6 years of relevant experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
- Applicants must possess a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI security clearance
- A DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.) is required to start
- The position involves rotating 24/7 shift work. The candidate will be assigned to a 12-hour shift, determined by mission requirements. Some substitute rotation during off-shifts, including nights and weekends, will be required
- Strong understanding of Network concepts:
- LAN/WAN
- TCP/IP
- Network management and monitoring
- Strong knowledge of management and monitoring tools and techniques for different network infrastructure components and services
- Knowledge of monitoring, network diagnostics, and network analytics tools, as well as virtualization technologies like:
- VMware
- vCenter
- vSphere
- Solid understanding and hands-on experience with remote access software such as:
- SSH
- RDP
- FTP
- SCP
- Strong understanding of OSPF, Cisco IOS, and JUNOS commands and troubleshooting
- Experience in Windows server maintenance
Preferred Qualifications:
- A current, active in-scope DoD-issued TS/SCI security clearance at the time of application is highly preferred
- Familiarity with encryption devices, especially TACLANEs
- Basic understanding of Linux/Unix server maintenance
- Experience in coordinating with other DoD Agencies and related network operations organizations

Salary Range: $73,900.00 - $110,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
