Job Description

Your Career

We seek a Principal Software Engineer to join the Cortex DevOps group, based at our India Development Center (IDC), who is, first and foremost, a software craftsman with a passion for building innovative tools and platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a deep-rooted background in software engineering and a strong understanding of the needs and challenges of R&D and DevOps teams. This role is for a true developer at heart, someone who excels at building high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software. If you have a passion for creating tools that enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support the operational needs of a growing infrastructure, you're the candidate we're looking for.

Your Impact

  • You will architect and implement resilient infrastructure solutions, with a strong emphasis on performance, security, and sound system design principles
  • You will write high-quality product and system development code that contributes to complex product and infrastructure features
  • You will lead the design and development of advanced features, collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions
  • You will initiate and drive technical design reviews, helping teams align on best practices and architectural patterns
  • You will provide expert-level code reviews, delivering in-depth feedback on code style, accuracy, efficiency, testability, and overall quality
  • You will spearhead the creation and enhancement of technical documentation, setting standards and promoting best practices across teams
  • You will provide advanced operational support and lead incident resolution for tools and applications maintained by the Cortex DevOps Tooling team.

Qualifications

Your Experience 

  • 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, demonstrating deep technical expertise, a passion for innovation, and a strong commitment to building highly reliable, scalable systems that meet strict service level objectives.
  • Graduate degree in the field of Computer Science.
  • Proficiency with software development in one or more programming languages (Python preferred)
  • Proficiency in developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with Compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
  • Proficiency with any major Cloud Provider(s) like GCP, AWS, Azure.
  • Experience with developing, deploying, and/or maintaining micro-services architecture with Kubernetes
  • Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.
  • Ability to grasp new technologies quickly and prioritize and multitask on multiple responsibilities.
