The Lead Security Engineer is the technical expert within Claire’s Information Security team responsible for taking a lead role in implementing, managing, and enhancing security controls within Claire’s environment.  The role is critical in implementing and maintaining security controls, managing security incidents, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements to protect the organization’s assets and data from cybersecurity threats.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain security architecture and solutions that align with business goals and industry best practices
  • Monitor security alerts and incidents, investigate security breaches or incidents, and provide timely response and resolution. Develop and implement incident response plans and procedures
  • Evaluate, implement, and manage security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint security solutions, and security information and event management (SIEM) platforms
  • Lead the implementation and manage IAM solutions to ensure appropriate access controls, user authentication, and authorization across the Claire’s IT systems and resources
  • Review and design architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and network diagrams and advise on non-compliance issues
  • Lead security architecture direction for solutions as well as influence peers, cross functional partners, and IT leadership
  • Effectively communicate security risk to various audience levels
  • Assist in setting the strategic security direction and approach for utilizing new technologies
  • Utilize security expertise to influence approaches to solving strategic business needs
  • Lead incident response efforts in the event of security incidents or breaches
  • Conduct digital forensics, incident analysis, and post-incident reviews to identify root cause and implement preventative measures
  • Understand and can articulate security trends  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related discipline or equivalent experience required
  • 7+ years’ experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on security engineering, architecture, and operations
  • Solid understanding of IAM, Threat and Vulnerability Management, encryption, SIEM and EDR
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and cloud computing platforms
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
