What is the opportunity?

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Onboarding & Governance Team is looking for a Director to assume a leadership position responsible for designing and maintaining the enterprise-wide IAM Process models. This role will consult and support the strategic implementation and processes covering all aspects of IAM. Responsibilities also include measuring and monitoring the operational effectiveness of the IAM Processes and supporting Audit, Regulatory and third-party requests for evidence. This role will require you to work with a wide range of technology and business stakeholders. You will identify business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals and meet sponsor/stakeholder needs.
We are looking for an ambitious, adaptable, and proactive individual with knowledge in the IAM and cloud computing space, who challenges the status quo and is constantly thinking about flexibility, robustness, and simplicity in everything we do.

What will you do?

  • Define and maintain enterprise-wide IAM Process Models and supporting material, related to all IAM capabilities:
  • Ensure processes enable efficiencies and optimizations are maximized whilst ensuring operational and business feasibility.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to project teams and LoB in translating the minimum set of requirements into business requirements, functional and non-functional requirements, and technical specifications.
  • Compiles IAM metrics collection from IAM Processes and Procedures to present IAM Governance documentation for senior leadership forums
  • Work with business partners and application teams across RBC Enterprise to documents IAM related control designs.
  • Identify and implement solutions to improve the efficiency of IAM processes.
  • Provide direction in the optimization, efficiency, and capacity planning for the Process & Metrics team.
  • Participate in and understand the IAM roadmaps for capability delivery. This is foundational to understanding the solution offering and providing guidance to service partners


What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

  • 5-10 years of experience with IAM capabilities and solutions
  • Experience with process design and effective metric design.
  • Ability to manage, prioritize, and execute with minimal direction or oversight in a high-pressure environment with emotional intelligence.
  • Strong understanding of IAM concepts and solutions designs for efficient security controls.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and negotiation with internal teams for effective task completion.
  • Proficient technical experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Visio, etc.) and Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience presenting to senior management forums.
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem solving abilities
  • Understanding of Business and Technical Strategies
  • Excellent understanding of risk concepts and frameworks
  • Builds a High Performance Culture – lead change and continuous renewal while building capabilities of employees and teams


Nice-to-have

  • Data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Professional certification(s) related to information security or information risk management such as CRISC, CISA, CISM, CISSP
  • Extensive experience in IAM technologies, compute platforms, technology / application support, application portfolio management technologies being delivered at large organizations (preferably financial institutions)
  • Excellent blend of technology, people management and business skills.
