In order to support our growth, we are hiring an Junior Security Analyst to safeguard the organization's computer systems, networks, and data against security breaches, cyber threats, and unauthorized access for a publicly traded IT Services company headquartered in Buffalo, NY with employees in most of the United States and Belgium, Luxembourg, Paris and Marseille France, the UK and India and Colombia The ideal candidate will be a “people person” with a friendly, outgoing personality – someone who enjoys working with team members and various employees.
You will report to the Information Security Officer and administratively to the CFO.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.
- Monitor security alerts and incidents, analyze data, and respond to security events.
- Utilize security information and event management (SIEM) tools to detect and investigate potential security incidents.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and monitor systems, network, databases, and Web for potential system breaches/intrusions
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Duties
- Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in systems, applications, and networks.
- Develop and implement incident response plans, investigate security incidents, assess the impact, and coordinate with relevant teams for containment and resolution.
- Maintain and configure security tools such as firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Manage user access and permissions and review and audit user accounts to ensure adherence to security policies.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to implement and enforce security measures.
- Create and maintain security documentation, including risk assessments, security policies, and incident reports.
- Educate and communicate security requirements and procedures to all users and new employees.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Stay current with emerging security threats and technologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned to fulfill responsibilities

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (ie. Computer science or cybersecurity) or equivalent years of experience.
- Recent grad’s will be considered
- Eagerness to learn
- Conduct work assignments as directed
