Job Summary


The IT Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining, supporting, and optimizing on-site contractor network infrastructure and technology resources. The candidate selected will ensure the smooth operation of hardware, software, networks, and systems, while also assisting users with technical issues and providing solutions to enhance overall productivity and efficiency.
 

 
Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and support a MS Windows networked environment with limited Linux, Apache, PHP and MySQL web applications.
  • Provide on-call IT support.
  • Interface with local customers and provide IT related support to quickly resolve problems.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance.
  • Perform periodic maintenance, hardware upgrades and replacement, firmware updates and system configuration changes.
  • Prepare system for operational use and support operational tests.
  • Provide technical guidance.
  • Manage and operate monitoring tools/capabilities with the enterprise security information and event management (SIEM) and create/tailor complex event alarms/rules and summary reports.
  • Execute cybersecurity operations procedures for day-to-day network management, operations, and maintenance.
  • Monitor/analyze output of cybersecurity related tools for reportable security incidents and residual risk.
  • Assist in analyzing technical risk, upon request, of emerging cybersecurity tools and processes. 
  • Respond promptly to user inquiries, providing technical assistance and support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems, either remotely or in person, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
  • Collaborate with users to identify and understand their technology needs, offering guidance and solutions to meet those needs.
  • Install, configure, and update operating systems, software applications, and patches across various devices and platforms.
  • Monitor system performance and reliability, implementing necessary updates, upgrades, and optimizations to ensure peak performance.
  • Monitor network security, implement appropriate security measures, and stay updated on emerging threats and best practices.
  • Procure, install, and maintain computer hardware, peripherals, and other technology equipment.
  • Coordinate repairs and replacements for malfunctioning hardware components.
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive data and systems from unauthorized access, malware, and other threats.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements related to IT security and privacy. 

 

Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+)
  • Must possess an active Top-Secret clearance and willingness to submit a CI Poly.
  • Associates of Arts or higher degree.
  • In lieu, ten (10) or more years of related experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2019 Server, Microsoft Windows 10 operating systems (OS) administration and associated hardware.
  • Proven experience as an IT Specialist or similar role.
  • Thorough knowledge of CISCO network and switching.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and data protection.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies to include communication security (COMSEC) integration including TACLANE network encryption.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio).
  • Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, initiative requiring minimal supervision. 
  • Thorough knowledge of Group Policy design and configuration. 
  • Working knowledge of VMware ESXi.
  • Successful background and drug screening check.


Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) or higher.
  • TS/SCI with CI poly
