The Network Security Engineer (NSE) provides security solutions by designing, implementing, and supporting new security technology and processes.  NSE position is tasked with providing ownership for regional information security projects and to the day-to-day operational activities, as well as, supporting and maintaining current firewalls while contributing to the development of information security solutions. The position requires hands-on technical work, a comprehensive understanding of today’s information security challenges, domains, concepts and principles, as well as solid firewall management discipline and communication skills.

  • Assist in defining and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as an escalation resource and mentor for other engineers.
  • Design, implement and maintain comprehensive information security solutions to meet business requirements. 
  • Assist with the development of processes and procedures to improve incident response times, analysis of incidents, and overall SOC functions
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams along with individuals from IT Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture and Application Development to design and implement security solutions as prioritized by management. 
  • Conduct assessments to identify and mitigate risky firewall rules.
  • Contribute and reduce firewall auditing time with automated compliance reports.
  • Monitor and maintain devices health and availability.
  • Analyze, clean up and optimize firewall policies for optimal performance.
  • Follow incident and change management procedures
  • Monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for responsiveness and coverage
  • Provide regular reports and statistics for service management
  • Solution architecture assignment for multiple projects, as designated by manager, with adherence to overall enterprise architecture and network, service and system architecture standards.
  • Additionally, develops guides/SOPs for work-related tasks, assists with vulnerability assessments as needed
  • Evaluation of emerging technologies, with understanding of fit and value within enterprise.
  • Engagement with vendors for emerging solution review, including detailed design, and best practices evaluation.
  • Follow project management methodology and demonstrate best-practices in network documentation as required
  • 7X24 support on-call
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other related disciplines required. 
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security or equivalent. (Required)
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) (Desired)
  • Language requirement: English (Required)
  • 5+ years, hands-on, broad-based information security experience.
  • Familiar with SOX, PCI DSS, ISO 27000, NIST SP 800
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and tasks concurrently. 
  • A self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience of operational security monitoring, metrics and reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
