This position is hybrid/remote and can sit in the footprint of Providence in one of the following states:  WA, OR or TX.  Possible required travel up to 10% of work schedule

Security Engineers Tier 1 are responsible for researching, evaluating, and designing technical security solutions for the enterprise in support of the Enterprise Information Security (EIS) strategies; providing technical security assessment support; developing, maintaining, and monitoring an effective Information Security program to provide logical and physical protection of the company's technical resources. Enterprise accountabilities include executing security engineering practices for IS projects; conduct product research and participate in the selection process of technologies to support security requirements; establish technical security guidance, provisioning of access by ensuring the proper access to all types of enterprise applications and data communications systems and services for each customer. 

Required qualifications:

  • 1 year related experience;

Preferred qualifications:

  • Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent educ/experience
  • Comptia Security+, SANS GIAC upon hire
  • 1-3 years related experience.

A Security Engineer on the Security Operations Triage Team, entry level position, performs Tier 1 work to include complex identity and access management implementation, working with Active Directory, Epic access granting, processing tickets in ServiceNow, and using additional tools to complete ticket work. Skills needed include great writing and communication skills, the ability to learn and adapt to change, and the ability to perform work independently while following written documentation to remain compliant

The salary range listed for this position MIN:$43.48 to MAX:$68.83 per hour is based upon the primary work location posted.  This position is remote. Salary range and offers are determined by internal pay equity and geographic cost of living differences.  Salary range will vary from State and region. Salary max is limited to 75% range in order to continue to offer internal pay growth. We welcome open and transparent discussions on salary at Providence.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
