A core cyber defense educator plays a crucial role in training individuals and organizations on cybersecurity principles and practices. They develop and deliver comprehensive curricula covering topics such as threat analysis, network security, incident response, and risk management. By leveraging hands-on exercises and real-world scenarios, these educators help learners understand and apply defensive strategies against cyber threats. They also stay updated on emerging technologies and vulnerabilities to ensure their instruction is relevant and effective, fostering a culture of cybersecurity awareness and resilience.

Job Requirements 

  • Must be fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese..
  • Possesses excellent presentation skills with an ability to remain calm and in control while troubleshooting potential class session issues (dropped call, power loss, client appliance connection issues, etc.)
  • Knowledge and understanding of IT/IS infrastructure management (including cloud), common IS frameworks (i.e. Mitre ATT&CK), Cyber Killchain, etc
  • Users must have high speed internet capable of professional video conferencing for class presentations. Proctors are routinely required to host four simultaneous zoom sessions. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Learn, prepare for, and execute on the Darktrace Course Catalogue (Threat Visualizer Essentials) aiming for a 6-month goal of completing the Cyber Analyst Track (TV1, TV2, CA1 & CA2), and Full Darktrace Catalogue/Track (All product suites), leading all of these courses at track end.
  • Lead and Proctor Darktrace certification exams for both our internal employees and external clients. Exam leads and proctors are expected to know the certification content and be able to support/troubleshoot exam & platform issues as they arise.
  • Conduct day-of certification exam preparation (environment spin up and health checks, issue resolution, traffic/breach generation, AI Analyst investigations, credential provisioning and assignment).
  • This role requires a high comfort level as a Security Analyst and the ability to assist clients with Darktrace specific investigations as they arise during dedicated training sessions along with analytical knowledge share during trainings (dedicated and public).
  • Keep up with the overall threat landscape, performing threat research and furthering your education through the study of cyber news, concepts, hands on practice and creating multiple threat research reports each week.
  • Must be comfortable as a security analyst, this includes terminology, procedures, and best practice and be able to investigate client environments while preparing Threat Intelligence Reports on findings.
  • Answer client questions (before, during and after dedicated training sessions) and assist the account teams by providing comprehensive after-action reports (AARs) reviewing private classes. AARs will be initially reviewed/signed off on, by a senior team member prior to send-off.
  • Keep up with your own work schedule, sending out meeting invites and updating our education database with the details of your classes, where appropriate.
  • Contribute to team discussions, research, and overall success
  • Prepare for, take, and pass all available Darktrace certifications over the course of a year+ of training.
  • Assist in initial or impromptu (re) scheduling of dedicated sessions or be prepared to step in as lead in instructor emergencies.
  • Re-certify your Darktrace certifications where necessary.
