Salary: £65,000 to £75,000 depending on experience
Location: Shoreham by Sea (Hybrid role)

Our recent investment from PE backers, Hg, will support Focus Group’s organic growth plan, M&A ambitions and product development initiatives, enhancing our ability to deliver innovative solutions to businesses of every size, shape and sector.
The IT Strategy Consultant works directly with our key clients to provide fractional Head of IT / vCTO services to their organisations. The Strategy Consultant works between the client and the specialist functions within Focus Group to provide a consolidated strategy service for our customers, working with them on their long term IT strategy, compliance and security requirements, IT policies and governance.
Principal Responsibilities/Duties
- Develop and support the implementation of our clients’ technology strategy in alignment with their business goals.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies to enhance our clients’ competitive edge and operational efficiency.
- Provide thought leadership on emerging technology trends and their potential impact on our clients’ organisations.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity policies and practices to safeguard our clients’ organisations data and assets.
- Oversee disaster recovery planning and execution to ensure business continuity for our clients.
- Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources for our clients.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations for our clients.
- Identify and mitigate technology-related risks to our clients’ businesses.
- Support the management of relationships with our clients’ external technology vendors and service providers.
- Create and confidently deliver technical presentations internally and externally.
- Able to understand business drivers and risks involved to the customer and Focus Group
- Structure and produce compelling IT Strategy documents and technical documentation outlining the cost savings and business benefits.
- Interface with the presales, delivery and project teams, articulating customer requirement, to ensure smooth transition from Sale to Delivery.
Essential Skills
- Extensive experience in strategic technology planning, execution, and policy development.
- From a relevant technical background, ideally within an MSP environment in a senior consultancy or leadership position.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A solid understanding of core product sets including M365, Azure, AVD, Windows Server and associated storage/hardware solutions, Networking Solutions including HPE, Meraki and Sonicwall.
- A solid understanding of Cyber technologies such as Zero Trust, SASE, CASB, EDR/XDR, Managed SOC, vulnerability and pen testing, Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO27001.
- Experience in designing and delivering technical solutions in SME to Enterprise businesses.
- Full drivers licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
- Experience in producing high quality document including IT policies and strategy documents.
