ROLE TITLE: Engineering Leader, Perimeter Defense Team

Role Summary/Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Security Engineering Leader to build an effective Perimeter Defense tech stack. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of technical professionals to design, implementation and governance of Perimeter Defense technology capabilities in the Public Cloud.  The focus of the role will be building effective controls and processes in the Public Cloud space, leveraging current tech stack, where possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of new perimeter defense security capabilities into the Public Cloud, including firewall policy, Web Content filtering, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and web application firewalls.

• Drive the implementation of new tools, technologies, and processes to improve the team's efficiency and effectiveness.

• Manage a team of technical professionals to design, build, and rollout new security capabilities for the organization's network perimeter.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and business leaders to ensure that security objectives are aligned with the organization's strategic goals and with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

• Develop and implement a roadmap for the Perimeter Defense tech stack, including identification of new technologies and evaluation of their effectiveness.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation and processes for the Perimeter Defense tech stack.

• Provide regular reporting on the team's performance metrics, including project timelines, budget, and resource allocation.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with a total experience of more than 10 years or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in technical security engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

• Proven detailed understanding of Public Cloud environments technology including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and other Public Cloud environments.

• Strong understanding of network perimeter defenses, including firewalls, web content filtering, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and web application firewalls.

• Proven experience in designing, building, and managing Perimeter Defense tech stack.

• Strong understanding of security frameworks, such as NIST and regulatory requirements such as PCI-DSS and HIPAA.

• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of technical professionals.

• Experience in modern coding languages such as Python and/or Terraform and writing API calls used in the effort to automate manual tasks.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues in a fast-paced environment.

• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, and CCNP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional are highly desirable.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with a total experience of 10+ years in lieu of degree 12+ Years of equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in technical security engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Work Timings:

Flexible working hours & need to be available at all times as per business requirements.

This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs
