A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable organizations to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. Thatâs why we need you, an experienced network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network our client needs.Â
You will provide end-to-end network troubleshooting and performance analysis support for a large DoD enterprise network. Work with a senior Tier 4 DoD network engineering group to provide subject matter expertise to analyze local and wide area network systems. Support planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting vendors, protocol suites, and technologies best suited to meet client requirements. Work with Tier 1- Tier 3 to identify network capture points, capture network traffic, and provide recommendations to improve the end user experience. Use network operations tools from vendors such as Netscout, Riverbed and others. Conduct network performance troubleshooting by analyzing packet captures and reviewing network management and security information and event management (SIEM) tools. Â

You Have:Â
5+ years of experience with IP networking and troubleshootingÂ
Experience with performance monitoring tools, both Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and Network Performance Monitoring (NPM)Â
Experience with packet capture and analysis tools, including Wireshark and tcpdump
Experience using Wireshark and tcpdump to troubleshoot application and network performance issues
Top Secret clearanceÂ
HS diploma or GED
Â
Nice If You Have:Â
Experience with Riverbed and NetScout
Experience with Synthetic Testing Tools, such as Jmeter, Loadrunner and othersÂ
Experience with F5 devicesÂ
Experience with Cisco IPSLA and Juniper RPMÂ
Experience with SIEM tools, including Splunk and ArcSightÂ
Knowledge of DoD networks and organizationsÂ
Possession of excellent oral and written communication skillsÂ
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
CCNA, CCNP, and Security+ Certification preferredÂ
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.âŻÂ

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individualâs particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allenâs total compensation package for employees.
