Tasks
- Advise leadership on technology risk investments and tradeoffs
- Apply encryption at rest and in transit
- Approve technology deployments and architectural changes
- Approve vendors based on security compliance and risk criteria
- Architect information security program
- Control monitor and revoke third party access
- Coordinate internal and external audits assessments investigations
- Define IT and security roadmap
- Define and enforce data protection controls
- Define and enforce security controls
- Deliver security awareness training phishing and impersonation prevention
- Design implement maintain IT systems
- Develop and enforce IT and security policies
- Ensure HIPAA privacy rule compliance
- Ensure HIPAA security rule compliance
- Establish data classification encryption access control logging monitoring retention
- Establish escalation paths for security breaches
- Establish incident response plans and escalation procedures
- Evaluate vendor third party security posture
- Govern data access sharing and retention
- Implement backup and disaster recovery
- Implement business continuity procedures
- Implement least privilege and zero trust
- Implement redundancy and failover strategies
- Investigate violations of IT or security policy
- Lead HIPAA risk analyses and remediation plans
- Lead incident response for breaches phishing impersonation and data exposure
- Maintain compliance documentation risk assessments audit evidence
- Maintain logs alerts and monitoring systems
- Manage SaaS applications and internal tools
- Manage cloud platforms
- Manage end user devices and endpoints
- Manage networks and connectivity
- Monitor threat landscape and adapt controls
- Monitor vendor compliance and contractual obligations
- Oversee business associate agreements
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Prevent unauthorized data access leakage misuse
- Provide executive reporting on security risks compliance status and incidents
- Safeguard PHI creation storage transmission disposal
