Position: Information Assurance (IA) Security Specialist (Senior)

Duration: Fulltime with CompQsoft 

Work Location: Elizabeth City, NC (Telework is Not initially, possible later date)

Our client: United States Coast Guard (USCG)

Tentative Start date: 03/01/2025

Requirements:

Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. May supervise others. Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information. May ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure. May respond to computer security breaches and viruses. Perform security and risk management audits. Recommends information assurance (IA)/security solutions to support customers’ requirements. Identifies, reports, and resolves cyber security violations. Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions that meet security requirements. Provides integration and implementation of the computer system security solution. Analyzes general IA and cyber security-related technical problems and provides basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems. Performs vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle. Experience in functional and systems analysis is required. The incumbent will ensure the risk analysis is consistent with applicable regulations and policies, while also ensuring the analysis will support internal or external compliance. The incumbent will manage multiple concurrent project tasks, develop schedules, and formulate plans and milestones. The incumbent will draft correspondence, reports, white papers, minutes, spreadsheets, communications products, briefs, and other documentation as needed. The incumbent will also identify and develop methods, plans, and documents to streamline operating procedures, reports, and systems to improve operations, achieve savings, and encourage long range planning to assure the program/project produces results in a cost-effective manner. 

Requirements

  

Education

Bachelor’s or associate degree in related field or at minimum Information Technology (IT) Certification.

Certification: IAT Level II certification

Experience

Three (3) years of experience in a related field.
