Aligned with the GREEN'26 Cement strategy, FLSmidth is set to have a dedicated Cement business entity, equipped to inject green-tech initiatives into the dynamic global cement market. This Cement business will feature its own dedicated Cement IT function, which is currently in the process of being developed.

Working alongside skilled colleagues both internally and externally, you will play a crucial role in ensuring cyber security standards and awareness in close collaboration with our Cement business and IT. As a newly established entity, our Cement business presents a unique opportunity to truly make a meaningful impact.

As part of our dedication to safeguarding our digital assets and ensuring the integrity of our information systems, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Cyber Security to lead our cyber security efforts and protect our organization from evolving threats.

About the role

The Head of Cyber Security is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and execution of the organization’s cyber security initiatives for our cement business. This role involves establishing the cyber security setup in Cement IT for managing risk, implementing security policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of cyber security principles, strong leadership skills, and the ability to stay ahead of emerging threats.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a cyber security strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.

  • Communicate the cyber security strategy and policies to stakeholders, including senior management and executive leadership.

  • Establishing the cybser security setup within cement IT to ensure compliance and adhere to the cyber best practices.

  • Identify, assess, and prioritize cyber security risks to the organization.

  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and incident response plans.

  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.

  • Develop, implement, and enforce cyber security policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, NIS2, NIFT, IEC).

  • Stay informed about emerging regulatory requirements and adjust the security program accordingly.

  • Oversee the development and execution of incident response plans, including detection, containment, eradication, and recovery.

  • Lead the response to security incidents and breaches, coordinating with internal teams and external partners as necessary.

  • Conduct post-incident analysis to identify root causes and implement improvements.

  • Oversee the monitoring of networks and systems for security threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Implement and manage security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption tools.

  • Ensure the secure configuration and maintenance of IT infrastructure and applications.

  • Develop and deliver cyber security training programs for employees to promote security awareness and best practices.

  • Foster a culture of security awareness across the organization.

  • Stay abreast of the latest cyber security trends, threats, and technologies.

  • Evaluate and implement new security solutions to enhance the organization’s security posture.

  • Collaborate with other IT functions and business leaders to integrate security into business processes and technology projects.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) is an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in cyber security, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven track record in developing and implementing cyber security strategies and programs.

  • Extensive knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).

  • Experience in presenting to and communicating with executive leadership and board of directors. 

  • Experience in developing and implementing enterprise-wide cyber security awareness programs.

  • Experience in developing and implementing third-party risk management programs

  • Strong leadership, management, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in security technologies and tools.

  • Experience with incident response and crisis management.

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle high-stakes situations.
