ABOUT THE ROLE

The Cyber Security Architect is responsible for continually improving cyber security governance, risk and compliance, architecture, and technical consulting services to major Australian Federal Government clients. This role involves developing cyber security policies and strategies, providing technical architectural advice, and assisting clients in transforming cyber systems and adopting cyber solutions. The position is based in Canberra, ACT.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Provide technical architectural advice and guidance as part of a highly skilled team of industry experts.
• Develop and implement cyber security policies and strategies.
• Assist clients in transforming cyber systems and adopting cyber solutions.
• Validate and document implemented security solutions.
• Develop solution architectural diagrams and documents to guide security solution delivery.
• Engage in high-level analysis to formulate effective strategies and insights.
• Communicate effectively with business units, security and design architectural groups, and ICT service providers on complex cyber architectural issues.
• Mentor junior architectural resources within a team environment.

REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to self-manage time and deliver outcomes as part of a dynamic team.
• Professional and polite demeanor committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Australian citizen with eligibility for security clearance (minimum baseline).
• Experience in architecture and a practical understanding of technology and cyber security concepts and frameworks.
• Familiarity with cyber security frameworks and their relation to ICT projects and design.
• Experience developing solution architectural diagrams and documents.
• Demonstrable experience in producing cyber security strategies for large Government agencies.
• High level of communication, collaboration, and engagement on complex cyber architectural issues.
• Prior exposure to enterprise IT environments, including cloud-hosted services, is highly desirable.
• Awareness of project management methodologies and/or previous experience in project team delivery is desirable.
