The Company

The Forensic Access Group (incorporating Forensic Access, IntaForensics, Alecto Forensics, Analytical Services International and Forensic Testing Services- FTS) is a leading provider of forensic science services to the Criminal Justice System.   


We are looking for an experienced Bid Writer who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced and fascinating industry to coordinate high-quality submissions to support our growth targets.


This position will at times work across all of our businesses and disciplines including Traditional & Digital Forensics, Cyber, Digital Investigations, Archaeology, Anthropology, Training and Family Law services.


The Position

With proven experience of bid writing, you will be responsible for producing and delivering compliant and professional bids within defined timescales.


You will play a key role in developing our win strategy, and therefore need to be able to think creatively.  You will be a skilled writer, who can write persuasive and compelling text.  You will have the skills to build and nurture strong relationships with our team of knowledgeable experts, supporting them through the bid process. 


The role incorporates the following responsibilities:

  • Manage bid processes from start to finish, ensuring deadlines are met and all proposals are completed to a high and compliant standards
  • Coordinate proposal responses, working with commercial, technical, finance and delivery teams to ensure proposals are accurate, complete and well-written
  • Risk tracking and management throughout the bid process
  • Monitor and report on bid activity, providing regular updates to senior management on status of current and upcoming bids
  • Conduct research on competitors, market trends and client need to inform bid strategy and approach
  • Coordinate and plan client presentations/visits required as part of the bid process
  • Drive continuous improvement, through post-bid reviews, both internally and with customers
  • Meticulous spelling, grammar and attention to detail as well as excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task is essential to this role


Person specification:

  • Proven ability in bid writing delivering complex product and services opportunities
  • Ideally has a background in solution selling and experience of bid writing from opportunity identification through to project delivery, and will provide valuable input into value proposition development, opportunity qualification, win strategy, and solution delivery
  • Confident in use of various IT systems and portals, and in data interpretation and presentation
  • Must be an excellent communicator and comfortable working across multiple disciplines and stakeholders
  • Will be conversant with the competitive marketplace
  • Has the ability to manage complex, multi-work steam opportunities
  • Solid understanding and management of internal governance procedures

Additional Information:


Hours: 37.5 hours per week: Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:00.  Initially the role will be based from either our offices in Nuneaton or Wantage, South Oxfordshire with an element of working from home considered following successful probationary period.
