We are actively sourcing an experienced Cyber Security Team Lead to be part of our Cyber Remediation Program at St Vincent’s Health Australia. Reporting to the Cyber Security Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team to manage operational practices, timely escalations and resolutions of operational security issues, ongoing vendor management and the coordination of technical responses within the broader Cyber Security function.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Cyber Security projects and ideally some exposure to the Hospital/Healthcare industry. You will be a committed, resourceful, and flexible leader who is willing to make an extra effort to ensure the security and safety of those we serve under St Vincent’s Health Australia.

This 12-month Fixed Term Full Time contract is available for immediate start, and will be a hybrid working model based in any of our Group Offices in Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Manage day-to-day operational security function at SVHA including SEIM, PAM, Patch and vulnerability management
  • Assess operational risk and facilitate remediation of identified vulnerabilities across the enterprise
  • Oversee the IT/risk posture within the network, infrastructure, endpoint devices and applications, and assess risks arising from changes to existing or through the implementation of new technologies
  • Identify and offer solutions to reduce risk and vulnerability while liaising with and keeping stakeholders updated and engaged to ensure effective delivery of projects within scope
  • Establish metrics, assess, and improve change management strategies to measure the adoption and utilisation of the system and maximise stakeholder engagement
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure effective strategies are implemented to reduce risk, maintain compliance, and explore continuous improvement opportunities

Things that work for us:

  • 7+ years’ Security Operations experience with at least 5 years in administering IT security controls
  • Demonstrated experience leading and facilitating productive discussions with staff and stakeholders, and a clear understanding of operational security and risk and it’s challenges
  • Proven ability to engage with Senior Management and external vendors and a track record in Information Security, IT Risk Management, IT Audit and Operational Security
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to easily manage diverse and competing priorities
  • Experience delivering incident response and Security Awareness Training advantageous
  • Strong resilience, communication, and problem-solving skills to address issues and challenges that may arise during the life of the projects
  • A committed, highly qualified yet personable professional with strong stakeholder management skills
