Job Description:

Reporting to the IE/UK HVDC Service Manager you will be site/home based, anywhere in the UK, but will be required to attend various customer sites throughout the UK, Ireland and overseas.

Your responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the design and implementation of Cyber specific projects and systems, network and security architectures and delivering sustainable services to maintain the customer specific Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
  • Ensuring our project and service deliverables meet the defined cyber security requirements outlined between Hitachi Energy and our customers.
  • Introducing new cyber security-related policies, standards and practices
  • Actively contributing to identifying, managing and reducing cyber security risks.
  • Anticipating and influencing current and future technologies and trends.
  • Representing Hitachi Energy as a cyber security expert in customer discussions.
  • Creating, maintaining and sharing a comprehensive understanding of global cyber security risks and market requirements, including regulations and standards
  • Additional requirement to integrate into an existing On-Call roster
  • Capable of developing and following network diagrams and overall network architecture.
  • Participating in cyber security risk assessments as a subject-matter expert
  • Interfacing with R&D departments and customers, ensuring expectations are met and exceeded
  • Actively contributing to identifying and capturing opportunities for improvement
  • To liaise with project management on outage development, and to provide forecast cost to complete estimates and associated justification to changes in expenditure

Your background:

  • A university degree within a relevant technical area, preferably Computer Science
  • Demonstrated excellent customer focus experience.
  • Experience with databases and high-availability solutions
  • Experience with scripting languages and automation technologies
  • Experience with port-, vulnerability-, and malware scanners, able to digest and communicate the output
  • Knowledge of intrusion detection systems, security information event monitoring, application control and other security-relevant systems is a major plus
  • Experience with network equipment (firewalls, switches) and redundant network designs and protocols
  • Experience with Microsoft client- and server operating systems (virtual and bare metal) from legacy to current generations
  • Experience with Active Directory and the different roles, integration with third-party devices and appliances
  • Previous experience from critical infrastructure is also a major plus
  • Clean full driving licence
  • Security clearance to comply with BS7858:2019
  • Fluent written & spoken English
