Job Description

Due to expansion, the Security Operations Centre Manager will oversee the activities of the 24x7 Security Operations Centre (SOC), ensuring that activities of the SOC are performed in accordance with policy, standards, and security best practices. The SOC manager has high visibility and direct responsibility for the effective and efficient operations of the Security Operations Centre including report generation, incident monitoring/response, communications, and education. Additionally, the position will be responsible for driving process refinement and implementation, cross-team/discipline collaboration, maintenance of internal and external stakeholder relationships, and supervision of staff. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Lead security operations team the analyst team in support of all designated Security Operations and limited Incident Response tasks. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage strategy, incident monitoring and handling, and detection, analysis. 
  • Maintain the personnel shift schedules. 
  • Oversee a team of L2 & L3 analysts. 
  • Lead, coach, and mentor the team. 
  • Perform Security Incident Management. 
  • Oversee, monitor, and tune security systems. 
  • Maintain and deploy security sensors and tools. 
  • Participate in strategy and planning and provide ideas regarding operational success. 
  • Develop security policies and procedures (Run Book, Incident Management Plans, etc.). 
  • Ensure controls, policies, and procedures are in full operation. 
  • Oversee the daily, weekly, and event reporting. 
  • Manage the identification and response of events or incidents regarding security breaches. 
  • Develop and review aggregated performance metrics. 
  • Ensure the coordination and communication between support and business functions. 

Skills and Experience  

  • Demonstrated mastery of one or more areas of cyber security expertise 
  • Demonstrated experience as a team or project leaders in a complex IT environment, preferably in security. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cyber security policies and standards in a highly regulated environment 
  • Formalized training or certification in one more area of cyber security specialisation 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Including a strong ability to create positive and professional business relationships with partner engineering and architecture teams across IT 
  • Strong commitment to talent development, training and coaching to acquire and retain key security talent 
  • Advanced security certifications or extensive formalized training 

Qualifications

CEH, CND, SIEM Certifications (ACSE), OSCP, CCSA, OCSP, ECSA, LPT 

Minimum 10 years of experience working in Information Security or relevant IT roles with increasing responsibility 

Minimum 5 years of experience designing and implementing cyber security or IT solutions or risk programs within a complex IT or highly regulated environment
