Security Operations Principle Engineer (Associate Director Level)

About the role

The Security Products Engineer position will assist in building, maturing, and sustaining a CyberSecurity program which does not lose sight of company culture and employee experience. The candidate in this role will work to help extend traditional security infrastructure products and applications across cloud platforms, proving endpoint and other security controls to the business and our partners in Haleon.

The Security Products Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and managing secure solutions. The engineer delivers these solutions in accordance with the organization’s architectural designs, best practices, and regulatory or compliance requirements. The Security Solutions Engineer is expected to contribute to the corporate security strategy with security leadership and other senior security staff. The Security Solutions Engineer is expected to implement, monitor, and manage secure solutions that address modern day CyberSecurity issues.

Key responsibilities

• The engineer delivers, maintains, and supports security solutions in accordance with the organization’s architectural designs, best practices, and regulatory or compliance requirements.
• •    Handle day-to-day implementation, monitoring, patching and operational support of hardware, software, customer applications, managed solutions in a cloud first environment.
• •    Implement technical and business requirements for data protection solutions, participate in project reviews, documentation processes.
• •    Facilitate complex technology changes on multiple platforms with global customers.
• •    24x7 response to operational service and escalation service incidents.
• •    Actively participate in security team meetings that facilitate secure technical and business design.
• •    Provide recommendations for continuous improvement opportunities based on data.
• •    Support and provide analysis of service initiatives and technology changes, as directed.
• •    Develop, report, and monitor cybersecurity measures of performance (e.g., Key Performance Indicators, Key Risk Indicators)
• •    Ability to write instructional documentation and convey (both foundational and highly technical) ideas in terms that non-technical people can understand.
• •    Ensure operational services by providing customers escalation support for resolving technical service problems, incidents or issues.
• •    Ability to maintain compliance and governance requirements and document accordingly.
• •    Work with peers across the department and company to understand technology and other data sources which play a role in maturing process and capability
• •    Support the cloud security program around infrastructure security areas, such as on-prem, public hybrid and multi-cloud, SaaS etc. including cyber security areas such as network security, including OT security, endpoint security, host, mobile, container, ensuring a robust ecosystem that supports visibility for security visibility and incident response. 
• •    The candidate must be capable of understanding the threats to our platforms from internal and external sources, be able to direct and coach team members on mitigation solutions.  

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in cloud computing technologies, including software-, infrastructure and platform-as-a-service environments.
• Experience in security domains such as: Incident Response, Application Security, Email Security, Infrastructure Security, Endpoint Security and Response, Detection Engineering, Network Security, Cloud Security, Compliance, Governance, Cryptography, IAM, Privacy, Risk Management.
• Up to date understanding of best practices regarding Cyber Security (China Cyber Laws).
• Knowledge and experience working with various operating systems.
• Ability to address and resolve information technology issues promptly and effectively.
• Able to work independently with a strong customer focus while maintaining patience with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to think logically and analytically to solve complex problems.
• Experience with Agile principles, values, and practices.
• Proven ability to engage with business and 3rd party stakeholders.
• Ability to think strategically and tactically, with effective decision-making skills.
• Experience providing operational support in a global environment.
• Strong hands-on experience in one or more programming languages and exposure to database and API services, scripting, and automation.
• You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain your cool.
• You have a deep understanding of security and networking best practices.
• You can create clear and concise documentation, usually without being prompted.
• Experience creating performance dashboards (i.e., KRIs/KPIs)
• Working knowledge of China CyberSecurity Law.

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
