Senior/Principal Software Security Analyst

We currently have an opening for an expert in software security analysis. This covers assessment of SoC/IC security architectures, specifications, resulting implementations and testing throughout the complete secure software development life cycle. You can apply your extensive security knowledge and experience, be involved in a wide range of security related products and ensure that our products achieve best class security. You will be an integral member of our team working closely with our security project managers supporting the different departments of the Crypto & Security group and work very closely with the engineering project manager and driving the execution of NXPs product creation pipelines.

This role is reporting into the head of Software Security Assessment and is located in Europe (primarily Delft, the Netherlands, Gratkorn, Austria and Glashow, UK). Other NXP locations may also be considered for the right candidate.

The responsibilities of this exciting, varied role will include

  • Software security assessment of SoC/IC security architectures and security scope specifications

  • Detailed software implementation reviews

  • Analysis of effectiveness of security mechanisms / hardenings in hardware, firmware, protocols, etc.

  • Work with Security Architects to innovate solutions to security-related problems

  • Manage the NXP Security Maturity Process applied on product developments in order to reduce security risks of our products

  • Define and manage Security Maturity Process security reviews and deliverables during product developments

  • Provide consultation on specific areas of security expertise and on the Security Maturity Process

  • Provide a technical interface point between product development teams and the Crypto & Security group

  • Support security certification, security-related ISO standards, and project management flows by application of the Security Maturity Process

  • Keep up-to-date with best practices and developments in the SoC/IC security industry (particularly in areas of expertise)

To ensure your successful performance in this role, the following is desired

  • BSEE or MSEE preferred in Security Engineering, Software Engineering or Electronic Engineering

  • Have good understanding of embedded software design, programming, documentation and testing

  • Have 5+ years of experience in the design and development of secure software, focus on embedded systems or complete solutions

  • Have professional knowledge of software languages (Assembly, C, Java, Java Card, RUST, Python)

  • Are familiar with "state of the art" software tools, CI/CD, engineering processes, IoT solutions and service (depending on area of expertise)

  • Have very good communication skills, customer-focus, be willing to listen and adapt

  • Have a strong security background and understanding of security concepts and principles. Knowledge of security certification processes would be advantageous

Furthermore you

  • Are comfortable working self-engaged, independently and in cross-functional teams

  • Are flexible and adaptable, and willing to participate in both hardware and software circles

  • Are a team player with strong interpersonal skills, experienced in multicultural and global working environments

  • Are willing to travel when necessary (normally 2 -3 times per year)
