Job Description

The L1 Security Analyst will be located in Geneva and will report to Vitol Group CISO.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Being responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents and alerts
  • Providing operational support to enable a secure and flexible global computing environment
  • Triaging and escalate security incidents to L2 analysts based on the severity and impact of the incident
  • Assisting in Incident Response investigations and mitigation
  • Performing initial analysis on security alerts to identify false positives and confirm real threats
  • Maintaining detailed records of incidents, including actions taken, timelines, and resolution status
  • Working closely with IT teams to ensure proper security configurations and policies are enforced across the network
  • Generating security reports for management

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, with focus on incident management or security operations
  • Knowledge of best practices in modern security architectures and incident responses
  • Relevant security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) preferred
  • Experience in a commodities trading environment an advantage
  • Familiarity with SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, and basic knowledge of networking and operating systems
