Starling Bank’s Treasury manages the bank’s growing balance sheet. We are responsible for managing liquidity, funding, IRRBB and structural risks using cash, investment securities, interest rate derivatives, and foreign exchange. 

We are looking for an experienced individual to lead the build-out of our securitisation capabilities in the immediate term and, in the longer term, support on external debt raising activities alongside the Treasurer and Group CFO. This role will report directly to the Treasurer. This person will be an integral part of the team, responsible for the structuring and execution of the bank’s mortgage securities. 


Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the structuring, execution, reporting and maintenance of Starling’s securitisation transactions
  • Providing support for any capital markets transactions. Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Supporting the production of key capital and liquidity documents.
  • Identifying opportunities to simplify or automate existing reporting / processes, while ensuring adequate controls are in place
  • Regular collaboration with the wider Treasury, including the dealing and liquidity management teams. 

Requirements

  • Experience of leading the structuring and execution of securitisation programmes.
  • The ability to distil market trends and industry developments for presentation to a broad audience.
  • Extensive industry contacts and strong project management skills, with a track record of coordinating multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Professional qualification in a quantitative field or equivalent experience, with an interest in data handling and analysis.
  • A keen interest in data, systems and emerging technology and how this can be used to transform processes
  • A strong attention to detail, ensuring that all activity is undertaken in accordance with the bank’s risk appetite.
  • A deep understanding of regulatory rules and requirements, e.g UK Securitisation Regulation, Market Abuse Regulation etc.
