The Senior Manager for Threat Detection leads a team of dedicated Detection Engineers. This team researches and builds detections for security threats facing ServiceNow. We are looking for someone with a passion for security and leadership.
They will play a key role in identifying, detecting, and disrupting threat activity targeting ServiceNow. The role will lead a team of senior engineers in threat hunting and detection activities. This opportunity is responsible for the people, process, and technology including strategy, execution, and operational activities for threat detection. As such, the Senior Manager will oversee the direct the creation and deployment of custom security detections.
Position Purpose
This individual will manage the lifecycle for building custom detections for the ServiceNow platform. They will assist in security incidents as required. You will have the opportunity to own the roadmap for detection engineering and contribute to the roadmaps and strategy for all threat detection and response teams. You will also provide expertise to security and technical teams regarding the organization's threat exposure and attack surface.

- Lead a world class team of security practitioners responsible for building custom detections for the ServiceNow's corporate and commercial networks.
- Identify and build detections for complex security threats.
- Drive and develop a culture that prioritizes innovation and results.
- Own the strategy and develop roadmaps to develop ServiceNow’s detection capabilities.
- Partner and collaborate with security leaders across ServiceNow.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
- 10+ years of total relevant experience in a global hi-tech organization
- 8+ years of experience in information security, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- 3+ years of experience within incident response or detection engineering role(s)
- Proficiency in Splunk and agile practices
- Strong leadership that fosters an environment that encourages and enables others to build skills and develop their careers and ensures diverse perspectives are included in the process of innovation.
- Celebrates team’s efforts, progress, and everyday wins and provides praise, recognition, and rewards for strong performance.
- Keen capabilities developing short term strategies (1 year or less) for team members to achieve operational results with the ability to communicate and build momentum behind a strategy.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices, standards, and frameworks (e.g., OWASP, NIST, ISO 27001).
