We’re looking for a Director, Security Engineering to lead and manage a growing team and to take Datadog’s security engineering teams to the next level. The mission of this team is to proactively detect, respond to, simulate, and identify breach attempts and threat actors.
You will lead multiple teams and own solutions to quickly identify breach attempts, contain and eradicate threats, streamline our security incident response processes with the business, continuously test our controls, and help the business make informed decisions based on threat intelligence. Your teams will establish metrics that demonstrate continuous improvements of the security capabilities and deliver meaningful results in Datadog’s security posture.

What You’ll Do:
- Manage and grow teams of talented analysts and engineers, ensuring they deliver high quality, timely work and that they’re happy, motivated, and growing
- Improve the company’s ability to identify, detect, and respond to threats by leading teams to develop correct security signals, dogfooding our products and building out necessary automation. Establish metrics to measure effectiveness of our response.
- Lead an effective vulnerability management program, taking results from automated scans and working with the highest levels of leadership to prioritize engineering initiatives to resolve vulnerabilities.
- Scale the organization to accommodate for necessary growth and contribute to shaping the future of the security organization
- Partner with Datadog’s product management team by becoming a customer of our security products and champion for new features and fixes
- Represent Datadog in the digital forensic and incident response, penetration testing/red teaming, and threat intelligence community
Who Are You:
- Proven track record of building scalable organizations, with organic growth and effective mentoring and team performance management
- Experience building effective cross organizational relationship and common solutions that prioritize security
- Focus on building a diverse, inclusive and globally distributed organization
- Strong, open communicator who is able to to take risks and drive meaningful change
- Prior experience in a large scale detection/response programs and building security operations functions
- You want to work in a fast-paced, product driven environment

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Datadog ranges from $272,000 - $340,000, plus a competitive equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Datadog offers a wide range of best in class, comprehensive and inclusive employee benefits for this role including healthcare, dental, parental planning, and mental health benefits, a 401(k) plan and match, paid time off, fitness reimbursements, and a discounted employee stock purchase plan.
