About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to serve as a Compliance Officer for our LatAm region, based in Sao Paolo, Brazil.  You will have the opportunity to support all aspects of the Group global and Americas Reinsurance Compliance team's mandate, drive content development and interact with business stakeholders and global Compliance team members. You will also provide support to Group and Compliance team initiatives and projects, as required. In this role you will:

  • Develop and deliver the local Compliance engagement strategy aligning with the Group Compliance Programme, the annual Compliance Plan and associated compliance risk mitigation standards for existing, new and changes to regulations including policies, guidelines, training, communication and regulatory compliance advisory support for business risk processes and controls
  • Provide Compliance risk framework and control expertise when interacting, reporting and responding to regulators
  • Support regular and relevant reporting to the Group, Senior Management and the local Board of Directors
  • Monitor regulatory developments and develop subject matter expertise on local regulatory requirements and Swiss Re Policies & Standards


About the Team
In this role, you will be an integral part of the Americas Region Compliance Team supporting Swiss Re's Reinsurance businesses in LatAm, US and Canada. This highly collaborative team is connected and works together to meet local and regional goals for the team. You will also be connected to Swiss Re's global Group Compliance team community which is highly collaborative and inclusive.

 

About You

  • University degree plus 5-7 years of experience in regulatory and/or operational compliance preferably in an insurance or financial services company. Risk Management, Audit or Legal experience will be considered.
  • Solid understanding of compliance risks and insurance. Property/casualty insurance regulations and requirements a plus
  • Exposure to international trade/sanctions, AML/TF and Data Privacy/Protection risk topics a plus
  • Able to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and detail orientation
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills and fluency in English and Portuguese required; Spanish fluency highly desirable
