Leidos is searching for a highly motivated Junior Security Engineer to support the U.S. Census Bureau customer on a highly visible cloud modernization contract. The Civil IT Leidos team will own the Cyber scope on this contract and will ultimately be responsible for the securing of applications and infrastructure in a hybrid (cloud and on-premise) environment, and mitigating cybersecurity risks. This position will be based in Suitland, MD but will have the benefit of a hybrid work arrangement with some remote work.

Your Main Objective: :

Support full system engineering life-cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, test, implementation, deployment, maintenance, integration, and documentation of security infrastructure including tool suite. Manage system security from the Operating System (OS) level to the application level.

• Install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot security solutions and related monitoring tools. 

• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate security risks. 

• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities. - Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and guidelines. - Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams on security-related matters.

• Manage system security from the Operating System (OS) level to the application level to include, but not limited to, patching, scheduling, documentation, coordination, testing, execution, communications

What Sets You Apart :

• Bachelor's degree plus 2-years of relevant experience or Master’s degree and no experience.

• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

• Experience with network security protocols and technologies. 

• Experience with security tools (Tenable, Mcafee, Wireshark. Etc.).

You Might Also Have :

• Hands on experience working in a cloud environment.

• Identity Access Management.

• Knowledge of security frameworks.
