Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC) is a research and development facility with around 500 R&D engineers, specialists, and experts, who focus on creating and sustaining digital solutions, new products and technology. This includes product integration, testing, cybersecurity, and certification.  The India Development Centre is situated in Chennai and Bangalore. IDC collaborates with the R&D and Research centers of Hitachi Energy, which are spread across more than 15 locations throughout 12 countries. In the past 20 years, IDC has secured more than 200 international papers and 150+ patents.

Mission Statement:

Modular Advanced Control for HVDC (MACH™), is the brain in HVDC transmission systems. This system is designed to run 24/7 for thirty years or more, allowing the HVDC system to be controlled and protected in the most reliable way throughout its lifetime. The system consists of Control & Protection Main Computers, Station Control and Monitoring servers, Operator Workstations, Digital Signal Processing units, Input or Output systems and Valve Control Units.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the cyber security functionalities of product and improve the security posture.

  • Work for fulfilling security compliance requirements for the products.

  • Perform Threat modeling/ Security assessment for products.

  • Perform product hardening, to allow only necessary function for products operation.

  • Cybersecurity functionality verification on control system components.

  • Participate in Vulnerability handling of the products.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.

  • 2 to 6 years of experience in cybersecurity.

  • Good understanding of cybersecurity principles like cyber security architecture, defense in depth, default deny, least privilege, compartmentalization, privileged initiation, AAA, etc.

  • Good understanding of cyber security controls like; IDS/IPS (host and network), hardening, security policies, Malware Protection, Filtering, NGFW, etc.

  • Knowledge in Networking, patch management.

  • Hands on Experience with protocols like HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, SSH, ICMP, DHCP, L2TP, PPTP, DNS, SNMP, RDP, and NTP.

  • Windows and Virtual Machine Administration.

  • Experience with Security tools like NMAP, Nessus, Wireshark, etc.

  • Certifications like MCP/MCITP/MCSE/CEH/CISSP/CISA are advantage.

  • Knowledge on security standards like IEC 62443, ISO 27001.

  • Hands on experience in automation using Python, Powershell and Batch scripts

  • Knowledge on protocols like IEC 61850, Goose, Modbus is an added advantage.

  • Good intercultural sensitivity and sense of ownership and responsibility.

  • Aptitude to learn new technologies and training and mentoring and collaboration skills.

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
