Job Description

Department 

This position is filled in the IoT Digital team of Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Hungary. The team consists of IT professionals working on IoT, data intelligence solutions and business flow automation implementation projects. 

Project 

Your future project will be in the mobility industry. Together with our partners, we are developing intelligent electronic tolling solutions for our international customers. We use digital intelligence for a smart service that connects Europe. Using sophisticated technology and our toll box, we are creating a new age of seamless mobility. Our aims is to further develop the currently available services and extend it to further domains. Together with the T-Systems International team members, you will join an international team supporting our customers by providing tolling solutions. 

Main tasks 

As a Network & Security DevOps engineer: 

  • You will be responsible for designing, implementing, deploying and maintaining scalable on-prem and cloud based infrastructure, with a focus on network security and resilience. 

  • You will leverage your deep understanding of network architecture and security best practices to protect our assets and ensure seamless service delivery 

  • You will implement and maintain secure networking configurations, including firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and security measures, such as encryptions, access controls, compliance frameworks to safeguard sensitive data and systems. 

  • Your role will involve collaborating with development, operations, and security teams to ensure that our systems are resilient, performant, and secure. 

  • You will take part in regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and address potential risks. 

  • You will develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring. 

  • You will monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize infrastructure to ensure high availability and minimal downtime. 

  • You will manage and maintain CI/CD pipelines with a strong focus on security, ensuring that all deployments meet stringent security standards. 

  • You will work closely with development teams to integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC). 

  • You will be part of a team, which keeps  up-to-date with the latest security threats, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve our infrastructure's security posture. 

  • You will be part of our cross-functional, international agile team that will take full operational responsibility (incl. 24x7 on call duty, SLAs) for the services that you own (we maintain a strong DevOps culture). 

Qualifications

Background and required skills: 

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in the following areas: Computer science, Engineering or Information Technology or equivalent work experience in IT 

  • 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or similar role with a strong focus on network and security engineering 

  • Proficiency in network architecture, including experience with firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and IDS/IPS. 

  • Strong knowledge of security best practices, including encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and incident response. 

  • Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell. 

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana or Splunk. 

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform. 

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and on-premises infrastructure. 

  • Collaboration with Jira and Confluence 

  • Strong communication skills and excellent written and verbal communication competences in English language. 

  • Eagerness to continually learn, grow and improve in a collaborative team environment. 

  • Knowledge of agile methods such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe and experience in working in agile teams. 

  • You are a team player. 

Advantage: 

  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or AWS Certified Security – Specialty. 

  • Experience with security compliance standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, or HIPAA. 

  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes. 

  • Experience with zero-trust architecture and microsegmentation. 

  • Understanding of DevSecOps practices and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines. 

  • German language knowledge
