Wärtsilä is an innovative technology company known for being a forerunner in the Marine and Energy markets. Every day, we – Wärtsilians - put our hearts and minds into turning Wärtsilä's purpose of enabling sustainable societies through innovation in technology and services into reality.

We want to transition the world towards a decarbonised and sustainable future.  By pushing the boundaries of engineering and technology, we can make it work. Together, we can create new business opportunities and more sustainable future that we can all be proud of.  Want to join the ride?

At ANCS (Automation, Navigation & Control Systems), we transform how vessels perform to create the safest and most efficient voyage for our customers – always with the vision in mind to navigate towards a more sustainable maritime industry. With our rich history of pioneering maritime technologies, we have defined industry benchmarks.

To be better tomorrow, we need the right talents today to complement our strong team of 650 employees in over 10 countries across the globe with the right skills, experience, and a winning attitude.

We are now looking for a

Compliance Expert, Cyber Security

to join our team in Denmark (Copenhagen) or Germany (Hamburg), delivering solutions for our customers in the maritime Navy and Commercial segment.

What you will be doing

You are the Perfect Candidate for this role if you have already worked with compliance for some years, maybe even in the maritime industry, and are thus thoroughly familiar with the IEC62443 standard and its various subcategories.

You are happy to collaborate closely with other teams e.g., R&D, Product Support, and Engineering, to get the best results for everyone involved.

You are comfortable in making sure that all stakeholders adhere to the standards, and you are ready to help them in the process when needed.

You will be part of a newly established team consisting so far of three members – but a team that is expected to grow quickly.

We expect this to be a hybrid position, so work can be performed partially remote and partially onsite, either from the newly renovated office in Hørsholm, North of Copenhagen or the innovative office in Hamburg, Germany.

As Compliance Expert your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Build close and strong relationships with external surveyors and other stakeholders.
  • Report audit results to stakeholders and ensure that departments address deviations and risks.
  • Educate and prepare the organization for audits, providing evidence, guidance etc.
  • Drive, facilitate, and validate the outcome of any cyber self-assessments issued by relevant authorities, e.g., IACS, making sure they meet the expected standards.
  • Act as advisor on cyber security design for the vessels in cooperation with the team.
  • Be pragmatic with finding solutions for cyber security while not compromising operational safety onboard.

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

  • Extensive knowledge of product compliance - preferably IEC62443 or similar standard.
  • Experience from the maritime or other regulated industry.
  • Fluent in English (communicate effectively in writing and verbally).
  • German and/or Danish language is a plus.
  • This position requires a security clearance at the confidential level (Confidentiel UE). The ability to obtain this is a condition for employment.
  • Prominent level of ethics, keeping confidentiality a top priority.
  • Excellent communications-, negotiation- and people-skills will ensure yours and the team’s success.

Why you and us?

We at Wärtsilä ANCS believe in empowerment, ownership and taking responsibility of our work. We support each other’s growth and cocreation as the true basis of our innovation. We have courage to see opportunities and take the initiative.

We are authentic and honest, and we strongly believe in that by being your own true self you can accomplish so much more. We don’t always get it right the first time, and if mistakes are made, we make sure to learn and grow from them. We want everyone to voice their opinions freely. That is why we have built an environment that empowers you and everyone around you, and where you can feel safe and cared for. Are you eager to be part of this ambition?

We have an amazing team, and we are excited about our work and the impact it has on building sustainable societies. We are looking to find a colleague with this shared passion for smart technologies and a sustainable future.
