IS Security Specialist

Key Role:

Play a pivotal role in our Data Loss Prevention (DLP) program for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Help with a variety of engineering efforts for DLP initiatives. Possess an understanding of cybersecurity, Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions, and a strong track record of cybersecurity engineering in complex environments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering
  • Knowledge of DLP solutions and tools, including Trellix, Netskope CASB, Varonis, Imperva, Cisco Email Security Appliance, Microsoft AIP, Qradar, and Splunk
  • Knowledge of technical support for various tasks, including DLP Gap Analysis, Requirements Review, Technology Re-Alignment, Reporting, Operational Response Documentation, Policy and Governance Establishment, and Training within the Talent Management System
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to review DLP threats to assess security risks and provide support for mapping solutions to mitigate these risks
  • Ability to support the development of DLP use cases and requirements
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to build and measure solutions that align to use cases and requirements
  • Ability to refine policies associated with the ZTA Data Pillar, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to help to establish effective communication channels to support tagging initiatives, including training and awareness programs
  • Ability to participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including a keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Math

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
