Our internal model is an outstanding source of risk quantification of all asset and liability risks and risk transfers. It has been developed to measure capital adequacy as well as a steering tool.The job therefore offers a tremendous opportunity to gain insights into the business steering, risk landscape and infrastructure of a global reinsurance company!
 
 

  • Design and implement improvements in our company's risk models to enable a comprehensive view on risk and integration of risk models for business steering.
  • Analyse and use data from various sources, such as finance systems, costing platforms, underwriting data bases to understand the underlying risks.
  • Develop new modelling approaches, maintain and improve the existing models.
  • Communicate and explain models and results to internal partners and regulators.
  • Address findings/issues from internal risk model validation and regulators. Ensure accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across business and IT functions to design robust and efficient solutions.

 

About the Team

 

We are a team of highly motivated and skilled Risk Modellers within Group Risk Management tasked to build and maintain Swiss Re's internal capital model, which is used for regulatory reporting (SST and Solvency II) and capital allocation. We work with numerous internal partners in Risk Management, Actuarial, Finance, Investments and Underwriting as well as regulators. We have implemented a state of the art modelling platform over the last years that you will operate, expand and improve. We are passionate about delivering benefits to our partners and are a highly collaborative and diverse team.

 

About You

 

  • Strong quantitative background, e.g. mathematics, computer science, physics, engineering.
  • 2+ years demonstrated experience in actuarial, risk or underwriting functions,  preferably in P&C or L&H  (re)insurance.
  • Proficiency in programming/coding in Python or other programming languages
  • Working style: focused, well-organized, self-motivated, great teammate, open and curious, quick-minded, fast-learner.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to explain sophisticated matters in an understandable way.
