Purpose Statement

Consult, design and implement robust security solutions that address current and emerging threats. Ensure Capitec systems and data are secure, compliant with industry standards, and resilient against cyberattacks.

Experience

Experience

Min

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles, with at least 3 years in a cybersecurity architecture position.
• Hands-on experience in infrastructure and security tools
• Proven track record in DevOps
• Proven ability to assess existing security architectures, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing security frameworks for large-scale enterprises.

Ideal

• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with 5+ years as a Cybersecurity Architect in a complex, multi-cloud environment.
• Familiarity with the security implications of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and blockchain.
• Experience integrating security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and working closely with development teams to ensure secure coding practices.
• Proficient in securing microservices architectures and containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ability to define, track, and report on key security metrics to stakeholders and executive leadership.

Qualifications (Minimum)

• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

• A relevant qualification in Information Technology
• Certification in ITIL Foundation

Knowledge

• Proficient in Solution Architecture (Infrastructure, Application, Data, & Security) framework.
• Proficient in various security domain
• Proficient in scripting and automation.
• Proficient in formulating and documenting security policies, standards, guidelines and roadmaps

Ideal

• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and best practices.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements such as GDPR, POPIA, and PCI-DSS.
