Overview

Mitel is looking for an experienced Application Security Architect to join our team! In this role you will set the architectural direction and provide design leadership to improve the security and compliance status of Mitel’s products, and services. You will develop and maintain a broad understanding of Mitel’s portfolio, evolving security and privacy requirements, and industry technology trends. You will work closely with Mitel R&D and DevOps teams to define and drive new security and privacy control development and continuous improvement in design and devops practices.

The ideal candidate will be a strong technical professional with an R&D systems or software development background. You will be able to start with broadly defined security and privacy requirements and technology trends, identify how Mitel products must advance over the long term with pragmatic release iterations, and follow through with technical guidance to development teams. With a broad understanding of the problem space and target solution, you will be able to influence business and technical stakeholders to drive security and privacy initiatives.

You will join the Product Security team responsible for the security and compliance of Mitel’s Unified Communications products and service offers. You will apply your current skills and learn new skills with focus on our next gen hybrid cloud applications.

Responsibilities:

• Generate security and privacy solution designs based on in-depth knowledge of industry best practices, evolving technologies, and compliance requirements.

• Analyze Mitel current products, services, and devops pipelines, assess implementation complexity for new controls, recommend adoption strategy, and work with PLM and development teams to drive iterative improvements.

• Act as a security architecture/technology expert resource to support development teams implementing security and privacy requirements in upcoming releases.

• Review product, service, and operations architectures and designs from a security and privacy compliance perspective.

• Identify best practices in secure software development and champion process improvements within both CI/CD and Agile development methodologies.

• Participate in advanced customer engagements providing security technical guidance within a customer-centric context.

Requirements:

• Relevant Engineering or Computer Science degree or equivalent technical experience.

• Minimum 9 years’ experience including architecture and software development roles.

• Security expertise in the application of security concepts and technologies to product architecture and software development.

• Broad expertise across multiple products and technologies.

• Experience engaging with both technical development teams and non-technical stakeholders.

• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Additional preferred skills:

• Knowledge of AWS and GCP frameworks and services.

• Knowledge of VoIP, communications and collaboration applications.

• Experience with regulatory and industry compliance requirements (e.g. GDPR, PCI, HIPPA, FIPS).

• Professional security certification (e.g. CSSLP).

• Formal and self-directed training is available for technologies, products and security standards.
